Virgin (Book One)
"And what is YOUR talent?" With a mocking tone, a deep voiced and visibly strong male, Nasa, summons Gaea from the small village crowd to the front of the line to stand before the Mei Ki Ari Ku, aka The Peoples Council.
A petite young female walks slowly to a patch of dry land, without saying a word. She sets her sight on a small area with a young dying tree, then opens her hand. She touches a branch and the once barren land immediately reformed to a bountiful field of green. Her eyes were a glistening green. Her beauty was youthful and her voice was unexpectedly stern. "Whatever TALENT I possess is solely for the care and safeguard of my people and my land." With no change in her facial expression, which indicated an obvious distaste for the present company and circumstances, she nodded to acknowledge the standing panel of The Peoples Council (TPC) and walked away in the opposite direction. She had made her position clear on more than one occasion. The need for tactful and civil interactions with TPC far outweighed her desire for teaching them a lesson.
"Your disposition requires some adjustment!" From the short distance she could sense the heat from a torch gun. To add to his outburst Nasa had fired it to challenge her. He was visibly irritated, yet intrigued that she is not 'incinerated'. Gaea is yet again, untouched by the intense heat discharged from his custom built weapon. This was an upgrade to his previous model.
"Ha." She smiles, blinks her still glistening green eyes. Shaking her head, and without a flinch she keeps walking. "When is he going to learn?"
Emma, the eldest female of TPC urges Nasa, "DO NOT arouse her anger, Nasa. She is more valuable to us as a warm ally."
Liam, the eldest male of TPC concurs with another word of advice. "In time, she will submit to us, whether she wants to or not. It is her purpose."
Emma nods. "Remember the arrangement, and remain on course. We shall have what is due to us. All that we want and more."
